Inflation Calculator (Historical & Future)

Calculate the buying power of money over time and project future inflation.

About the Inflation Calculator

This calculator has two powerful modes to help you understand the impact of inflation on your money. The data is sourced from official government statistics agencies for the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and the Euro Area.

Historical Value

The historical mode lets you see how the purchasing power of money has changed between two years. For example, you can find out what $100 in 1990 would be worth today. This calculation uses the annual average Consumer Price Index (CPI) or Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for the selected region.

Future Projection

The future projection mode estimates the future value of your money based on an assumed annual inflation rate. By default, this rate is the long-term historical average for the selected region, but you can adjust it to test different scenarios. This is useful for financial planning and understanding how much your savings might be worth in the future.
